Maintenance

Furuno Radar Sensor Problem

The radar signal is sent to the Multi Function Display with a regular cross-over network cable.  On the radar sensor side the cable plugs into the net jack J207.  Unfortunately there seems to be a bad contact on the underside of the female jack.  To fix the problem the cable that leaves the jack must be pressed to one side and not be loose.  A piece of stiff plastic foam or something similar will do the trick.

So if on startup of the radar no radar icon is displayed, the above described fix must be repeated.  To get the radar to operate again start the Multi Function Display (the "radar"), press the menu key and go to the installation wizard.  After searching for the available components, radar must show 1, BB and MFD also 1.  If radar shows 0, the wedging procedure on the radar sensor has to be repeated.

Then proceed and save and exit the installation wizard.  On powering up the radar should be working.  If not make sure that in the "Radar" menu the radar source must be "DRS_Open".
