Today June 21st 2005, the catamaran will hit the water!

But before the great moment arrives the cat has to be moved to the harbor, about 80 meters of narrow passages and obstacles.

To clear the obstacles we had to lift the boat and the easiest solution was to weld the cradle on top of a 20 foot container and then gently lift the cat onto it.

While lifting we also determined the weight: 16.8 tons.

At a crawl we moved the whole setup...

... past Mario's precious pear trees.

I am not kidding, the pear trees were one of the reasons the catamaran was elevated with a container.

Then came the narrow passage between the building and a hedge and more trees on the left.

This narrow passage was the other reason for elevating the cat, because of the hedge on the left.

Finally we reached a position where the crane took over again...
The cat got lifted...
..had to go over part of the roof...
    I was holding my breath...
Finally, with all the obstacles cleared, the catamaran is suspended over the water.
    Going down...
...down...
...and finally splash!.

Everything worked as planned.  I cannot use and test the cat yet because I am waiting for the necessary permissions.

The cat is light on the bow since all the forward equipment is still missing (anchors etc.).
