Finally, the PH8 navigates.

A picture is worth more than a thousand words.  Besides, I am having too much fun testing and enjoying the cat.

Top speed is 17.5 knots.

Eventually it will be a bit higher, since the props are a bit too small.

The cat is still very light.  At splash day the crane operator determined the weight: 16.8 metric tons.  Not much weight has been added since then.

The cat was designed to have a full weight of 30 metric tons.

Manovrability is wonderful.  Thanks to the width of the propellers the cat literally turns on itself.  No need for a bow thruster.

Tha radar arch is still provisional.  I have not yet decided how tall I really want it, or if I want a tuna tower.

The photographer told me to "pose" in front of Laveno, so that it looks a bit as if we were in Portofino.

Laveno is a little town on lago Maggiore right in front of stresa and about 10km from where the cat was built.

See you later...

or better yet, come to see me...
